Lake Manatee State Recreation Area

Bradenton

This 556-acre recreation area extends along three miles of the south shore of Lake Manatee, a water reservoir for Manatee and Sarasota counties. The park is montly pine flat woods and sand pine scrub with some depression marshes and xeric hammock.

Recreational activities include camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing and boating. A boat ramp is available, however, boat motors are limited to less than 20 horsepower. No waterskiing is allowed.

Lake Manatee State Recreation Area is located 15 miles east of Bradenton on S.R. 64.
