Welcome to the home of the manatees and thank you for visiting our school. St.Petersburg Challenge School is a special, voluntary program for fourth and fifth graders designed to impact the dropout rate through early intervention. Children attending the school live in homes south of a midpoint in densely populated Pinellas County. Children chosen for this program meet some or all of the designated criteria: received grades below their ability level; having inadequate self-esteem; attendance issues (absent or tardy an excessive number of days); displaying inadequate personal, social and study skills. All staff have been trained in numerous strategies to increase self-esteem and help students learn respect, responsibility and self-reliance.

Our Mission Statement:

The mission of the St.Petersburg Challenge School is to provide successful quality educational experiences for learners achieving collaboratively in an atmosphere of mutual respect, thereby creating a foundation for lifelong learning.
